Swindon Netballer selected to represent England Netball Nets U21 at World Cup in South Africa
Swindon netballer, Abby Miles, has been selected to represent England Netball Nets U21 at the Indoor Netball World Cup 2019 in South Africa in August! The Indoor Netball World Cup 2019 is due to take place 4th August - 10th August in Capetown, South Africa.
Abby made the long squad for the England Netball Nets along with 22 other girls back in February and has now made the final squad of 12 for the Indoor Netball World Cup 2019 after her hard work and determination to achieve this goal.
Abby said “I am really excited about my selection to represent my country in the sport I love. I’m looking forward to training with the squad leading up to the Indoor Netball World Cup and hopefully achieving a gold medal for England. I'm going to work hard and try and get a role of a captain/vice-captain. I'd like to thank Nterga, Smarter-Media Digital-Agency, SocMedSup.com and Goatx.co who have all currently helped me financially on the road to going to the Indoor Netball World Cup as it's unfortunately self funded."
Nets is a variation of netball that is fast, non-stop and very tactical. Although there are similarities with the rules of standard 7 a side netball, there are obviously a number of differences as well. The most obvious of these is that the game is played within an enclosed high tension cage, or ‘nets’.
Unfortunately the tour is self-funded so Abby will be after sponsorship and donations to help fund her place to fulfil her dream of representing her country at such a big event. Many local businesses from Swindon like Nterga, Smarter-Media Digital-Agency, SocMedSup.com and Goatx.co have all kindly helped Abby financially already.
Abby needs to raise between £3,500 and £4000. If you're interested in helping Abby and her dream please contact her on 07951768722 or via email on [email protected].
All business/companies/organisations who sponsor Abby a large amount have the opportunity to be emboirdered onto her England kit and will show on her England player profile on the England Netball website.
Abby was also selected to represent the England Netball Nets U21 squad in November. She played in the Redbull Switch Up tournament which took place at the Copperbox Arena, London.
