Snapped: Swindon's New Mayor Unveiled

Councillor Teresa Page officially took up her role as Swindon's new Mayor at a special council meeting over the weekend.

Having spent the last twelve months as the Deputy Mayor, the Labour Councillor for Penhill and Upper Stratton will carry out mayoral duties for the next year.

The Irish-born mayor first served as a councillor between 1996 and 2004 before being re-elected once again in 2012. 

Taking up the role of deputy mayor for the year is Councillor Andrew Bennett, who will step into the role of mayor for the following 12 months.
