Snapped: New College Students Celebrate Exam Success
Today, students up and down the country have been nervously opening their AS and A Level results.
16-18 year old students at New College Swindon are celebrating great exam success with an increase in the number of successful A Level entries, with a pass rate of 97%.
The percentage of students achieving A*, A or B grades was 39%, with 4% of students achieving an A* grade and 21 students achieving 3 A grades or more, an outstanding achievement.
New College is also expecting a record number of its students to gain university places following these results.
Last year 521 New College students gained places at university and other higher education destinations and this year hopes are high for the record to be broken with 658 students having already applied.
New College Principal, Graham Taylor, commented: “These fantastic A-level and BTEC results really are a credit to the talented and hard working learners we have at New College, and a tribute to the efforts and support of all of our teaching and support staff.
