Review: Frankly Sinatra
With one of the world's top Frank Sinatra tributes in town, we couldn't help but go along to the Wyvern Theatre and enjoy 'Frankly Sinatra'. Read our review as Stephen Triffit croons his way to Swindon's hearts.
Stephen Triffit has starred all over the world in his acclaimed tribute act to Frank Sinatra including creating the role of Ol' Blue Eyes in the West End production of The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas, and performing amongst other venues in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Canada and the London Palladium.
What an amazing night it turned out to be - you didn`t even need to close your eyes to imagine Frank was up there on stage as Stephen not only sounds like Sinatra, he looks like him too! His delivery, laid back Sinatra stance, his phrasing and, of course the voice - everything was spot on. There are so many Sinatra songs but Stephen brought us a wonderful repertoire of old favourites including a couple I hadn`t heard before .
The accompanying band was magnificent adding to the full experience. The evening flew by so quickly and had the audience longing for more and according Stephen and the band a rapturous standing ovation. Stephen is touring nationwide throughout the rest of the year and well into 2017 - would recommend you check out his website for dates and venues .
Thanks to the Wyvern for bringing us another wonderful show. Their repertoire is outstanding there is something for everyone - ballet (The Russian State Ballet), plays, musical shows, comedies - even a Festive Tea and Tour and of course, the much anticipated Pantomime - Cinderella starring Ryan Thomas running from Saturday 10th December 2016 until Sunday 8th January 2017.
