Fantastic Family Show Comes to the Wyvern in June
Following a smash hit West End season, Scamp Theatre’s delightful adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s hugely popular children’s book Stick Man is coming to the Wyvern Theatre in June.
The world outside the family tree is a dangerous place for Stick Man. A dog wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him and he even ends up on a fire! How will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree? Touching, funny and utterly original, this enchanting adaptation features three actors and a one-man-band playing a host of colourful characters and animals to magically re-tell Stick Man’s adventures.
Stick Man is adapted from the book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler. Julia Donaldson is a British writer, playwright and performer, the 2011–2013 Children's Laureate and the prize-winning author of some of the world's most-loved children's books, most notably the modern classic The Gruffalo which has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
Stick Man is created by the award-winning Scamp Theatre, whose stage adaptation is described as ‘wonderfully exuberant and imaginative’ by TimeOut. Scamp Theatre was founded in 2003 by award-winning producers Jennifer Sutherland and Louise Callow, and brings a range of theatrical live performance to audiences of all ages, with an increased focus on adaptation, particularly in children’s literature.
Stick Man comes to the Wyvern Theatre on Sunday 28th June. Book tickets today at swindontheatres.co.uk or by calling the Ticket Office on 01793 524 481.
