Owned by long-standing local restaurateur Alan Mok, Swindon Rendezvous has been a staple of the town’s dining scene for more than 25 years. Known for its all-you-can-eat Chinese menu and welcoming service, the restaurant currently operates from Theatre Square, but it’s the upcoming return to Old Town that’s creating a real buzz.
The site at Hooper Place holds special significance for the team. Back in 2016, it was home to the original Swindon Rendezvous by day, transforming into the Tree nightclub after dark. Now, nearly a decade later, the venue is being reimagined as a vibrant new destination.
Teasers for the new restaurant have already appeared on the building, featuring bold signage and colourful Chinese zodiac symbols. A spacious rooftop terrace is one of the most anticipated features, as well as private dining & karaoke rooms.
The restaurant has confirmed that the venue will be fully wheelchair accessible, with a lift and multiple entry points.
Though the exact opening date hasn’t yet been revealed, updates on social media suggest it’s not far off. The move will also mark the closure of their Theatre Square location once the Old Town venue is fully open.
With a sleek new setting, exquisite cocktails and exciting new dishes on the way, Swindon Rendezvous is set to become Old Town’s newest destination for unforgettable dining.
