A year in review from the team at Nanogreen Cleaning

Nanogreen Cleaning is a commercial cleaning and soft facilities management expert that specialises in the delivery of essential services for business and organisations. The team are based in Swindon but work in Wiltshire and beyond.

Today they're sharing their highs of 2022!

Wow, well what a year 2022 has been for Nanogreen and an absolute whirlwind of a year at that.

To begin with 2022 has been an amazing consolidator of all the hard work, determination, compromise and out of the box thinking that has had to happen off of the back of the pandemic. We have truly counted ourselves fortuitous and the support from our teams both management and our guys at the coal face of our business.

So, 2022! Apart from being a confirmation of our business ethos and values we had many a thing to celebrate:

Starting at the end of Quarter 1, our team had grown from 9 to 14 members. This has not only allowed us to increase capacity and eliminate overworked staff - we have kept true to our recruitment target of 1 in 5 employees having come from or currently have barriers to employment.

As of April 2022 Nanogreen became a living wage accredited employer - completely eliminating zero hour contracts, paying our staff a real living wage and giving all of our staff a fixed salary to alleviate any fears of what was an anticipated increase in costs.

In June Nanogreen were awarded the All Party Parliamentary Groups Constituency Corporate Social Responsibility Business Champion - with visit to Parliament as shortlisted nomination for the National aware.

In July we acquired Krypton Environmental to add to our soft facilities management offering - John Richards and Mike Lloyd joined the team and now help Nanogreen provide not only commercial and specialist cleaning services, washroom provisions including hygiene bins and serviced mats; but also Reactive and Pro actively Managed service contracts - all under one contract, one point of contact and one invoice.

November saw our second acquisition of 2022 but our third in three years. This was a game changer for Nanogreen in terms of expanding our social and environmental impact and taking the business forward and future proofing as much as possible. Nanogreen has acquired Thomas Cleaning which has both a trading business platform and a Franchise business. The trading business of Thomas Cleaning will migrate in to Nanogreen and expand our reach from the three counties surrounding Salisbury all the way to Leicestershire. This has triple our capacity and gives Nanogreen a stronger foundation for its National Growth and implementation of our Branch Model.

In December at the time of writing this, Nanogreen have been nominated and shortlisted for Business of The Year at the Southwest Business Awards (taking place on 8th December 2022). This is an absolute privilege to be nominated and even more of an accomplishment to be shortlisted alongside some large corporate entities.

2022 has been an exciting, busy, scary and overwhelming year but filled with positives and opportunity.

We have unforgivingly believed in our values, ethos and our teams to lead our working practices and allow us to concentrate on the strategic changes and growth that will allow us to review our 2023, hopefully with the same positive news and gusto.
