How is August looking in your business?
The month of August is a great time in our industry for planning for the future. We still have some great projects on the go for our clients, however, we have also made some investments in new kit which should arrive this month and we also have many members of our team taking a well deserved break after completing some significant signage projects.
What are your personal plans for this month?
This month I’ll be planning for marketing activities for the final quarter of the year in the business as well as taking the opportunity to have a little break. I’ll be going to Edinburgh to the Fringe where my daughter is performing with the Theatre Group.
What advice/tips would you give to small business owners trying to navigate the ‘holiday’ period?
My main piece of advice for all business owners would be not to panic if it’s all feeling a little too quiet in your business at the moment. Take this quiet period to make the most of the quiet time. Use it to plan and prepare to hit the final quarter of the year in your business and achieve your goals.
Did you know that July 29 to Aug 7 was Love Parks Week? Is this relevant to your business or organisation?
I believe that local parks are essential to the health and well being of our local communities. I have a cockapoo, so you will often find me out with the family, finding new and safe spaces where we can let the dog run off lead.
Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too?
I’d love to give a shout out to the team at Drytac who are a key supplier to us of vinyls and in particular the material that we produce our digitally printed wallpaper on. Kieran, who I used to work with, has recently started a new role there and has been really helpful whenever I need help, advice or a few sample sheets to go out to our clients. You can find them at www.dryac.com
